PICKS FOR KIDS:

Water Day at the Skirball is a perfect way to beat the summer heat.  There’ll be lots of fun ways to explore the “wonders of water” including creative water games, interactive activities and live performances for the whole family.  My boys couldn’t get enough of the Pump and Splash activity last year (bring some dry clothes because they got soaked!).  Sunday, July 19 (10:00 am -4:30 pm). Free with admission.  All ages.

Free Garden Concert  for kids in the Getty Center’s Central Garden. Bring a picnic blanket and enjoy the wildly entertaining tunes of Bill Harley (hear promo) — a two-time grammy award-winner known for tunes like Dad Threw the TV out the Window and 50 Ways to Fool Your Mother.  Saturday, August 18 & Sunday, August 19 (4:00-5:30 pm). All ages.

PICKS FOR ADULTS:

Muse Til Midnight at LACMA, Saturday, August 25 (8:30 pm-12:30 am).  Experience the museum’s modern and contemporary galleries with tailor-made soundtracks by DJs and musicians, plus a live outdoor performance by uber cool band Geographer (hear promo) with Chris Burden’s Urban Lights sculpture as a backdrop. Tickets available online.
