Well the 405 Freeway closure was shorter than expected and it actually reduced traffic in some areas of the city. The Getty Center Museum and the Skirball Cultural Center are open again, and our art museums continue to offer lots of things to do in Los Angeles this summer. Here’s this week’s kids activities schedule.
My “Pick of the Week,” is the Fowler Museum’s Fela-bration festival this Saturday, July 23, from 1-4 pm. Marking the closing of the exhibition, “Central Nigeria Unmasked: Arts of the Benue River Valley,” this festival has a jam-packed program of live performances of Nigerian music and dance, plus face painting and a mask-making activity for families. See my upcoming post on more about the Fowler Museum at UCLA.
Week of July 18-24: Highlighted programs indicate special programs for this week only; or repeating programs that feature a new theme, performer, or movie each week/month. All other program listings repeat daily/weekly throughout the summer. Always click on the link of any activity you plan to attend for program details, and to confirm the date and time. Museum schedules can, and do change, from time to time. And be sure to subscribe to this blog to get an email copy of this calendar every week.
