Do you have a list of special things you’d like to do with your kids this summer? I do, and as summer charges along, I’m noticing that I still haven’t gotten to most of them — okay, well make that any of them. I’ve fallen into a comfortable routine of sending the kids to camp, or going to the park and the beach. Mind you, these are all fun activities. They’re just not that out of the ordinary. Every time I think of planning an exciting new adventure, I can’t seem to find the time to sit down at my computer and figure out what’s happening in L.A. this summer.
Well, I’ve decided to change all that and make it easy for you and me to find new things to do. Yesterday, I completed a survey of summer family activities offered at our local art museums. I can’t believe how much there is do — hands-on art activities, exhibitions, movie matinees, storytelling, and outdoor concerts. There’s literally something for everyone. And guess what, they’re almost all free!
Every week this summer, I’ll be posting a Museum Stories calendar of family fun activities at L.A. art museums. Some weeks I’ll even feature a “Pick of the Week” activity in case you have a hard time deciding what to do. Always click on the link of any activity you plan to attend for details, and to confirm the date and time. Museum schedules can, and do change, from time to time. And be sure to subscribe to this blog so you can get an email copy of this calendar every week.
Enjoy your summer adventures!
